π§ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) β Yoga
π― Objective
To integrate yoga into the school routine as a tool for physical fitness, emotional balance, stress management, and holistic well-being of students and staff.
π General Guidelines
- π§βπ« Yoga sessions must be conducted by qualified instructors only.
- π Sessions should be scheduled in the morning or during activity periods for maximum benefit.
- π Students should wear comfortable attire (sports uniform / stretchable clothes) during yoga practice.
- πͺ· Yoga is to be practiced in a calm, clean, and well-ventilated space (Yoga Room / Open Ground).
π§ Student Participation
- π Students should begin with a short prayer/meditation to set a calm mood.
- π¬οΈ Basic breathing techniques (Pranayama) must be practiced daily.
- π€ΈββοΈ Asanas should be age-appropriate:
- Pre-Primary: Simple stretches & fun poses (Tree pose, Cat pose).
- Primary: Foundational asanas (Tadasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana).
- Middle & High School: Advanced asanas with balance, flexibility, and endurance.
- π° Students should not eat heavy meals at least 1β2 hours before sessions.
π§βπ« Instructor Responsibility
- π§ Demonstrate each pose slowly & clearly, ensuring students follow proper alignment & breathing.
- π Monitor students carefully to avoid injuries or strain.
- β¨ Encourage regular practice for long-term benefits.
